Leonetti Cellar 2016 Loess Red (Walla Walla Valley (WA))

Cellar Selection

Petit Verdot makes up half of this wine, with the rest Cabernet Sauvignon (30%) and Merlot. Aromas of black cherry, fig, flower, dates and spice lead to rich and opulent but still well-balanced flavors backed by an ocean of tannins. It packs a big punch of flavor, acidity and tannins but also brings plenty of subtlety. The balance is impeccable. It will have an extremely long life ahead of it and absolutely needs time to be fully appreciated. Best from 2027 to 2036 with a good life beyond that. Sean P. Sullivan
