Level 3 2016 Driven Red (Paso Robles)

Black currant and blackberry-pie aromas make for a joyous entry to this blend of 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Syrah and 15% Petite Sirah, which also shows new leather on the nose. It's generous on the palate, with rich boysenberry, snappy pink-peppercorn spice and a dusting of wild thyme, framed by balanced acidity and tannins. Matt Kettmann
