Lichen Estate 2015 Les Pinots Noir & Gris White (Anderson Valley)

Editors' Choice

This is an unusually substantive and aromatic white wine made from a blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris that's also light in alcohol. A winemaker would say it has lots of phenolics, meaning the flavor and texture characteristics that come from the grape skins. The aromas are like apple skin and mild spices and the flavors mimic apricot and white peach. It feels full on the palate and well balanced by acidity. Jim Gordon
