Lieb 2018 Estate Merlot (North Fork of Long Island)

Bright, fruity raspberry and cherry form the nose. Shades of violet and spice give a bit of depth, but the fruit remains front and center. This is medium in weight, with a juicy, lifted palate of zesty bramble berries and cranberries. There's a tangy, salivating element to the midpalate, while light accents of pepper and flowers skirt around the edges. Mildly raspy tannins arise on the spicy finish. Alexander Peartree
