Lieb 2019 Estate Meritage (North Fork of Long Island)

There's depth and richness to this Bordeaux-style red blend. Accents of Dutch-process cocoa, coffee and clove stud the rich black-cherry and dark-plum core, with a zesty line of crushed stone lifting it all up. There's grip and power to the tannins, with bursting acidity for balance. Fruit and oak spice linger on the close, indicating this would hold well in the cellar. Drink through 2028. Alexander Peartree
