Lingua Franca 2016 Hope Well Vineyard Pinot Noir (Eola-Amity Hills)

Mimi Casteel tends this vineyard, and this young, still-unevolved wine needs more time to fully blossom. It hews closely to the emerging Lingua Franca style—not quite austere, but focused, tart and juicy, with just-ripe-enough flavors of cranberry and raspberry front and center. This should continue to improve over the next eight to 10 years, so tuck it away until 2020. Paul Gregutt
