Lion Ranch 2013 Viognier (Santa Clara Valley)

The nose on this densely layered wine show both the richness of caramelized citrus and the freshness of apple blossoms, with a touch of iodine tossed in for intrigue. There's a nice lime-like liveliness on the palate, though it is quite sour, with tart stone fruit flavors. Matt Kettmann
