A juice bomb in the best sense, this wine bursts from the glass with aromas of fresh squeezed cherry juice and watermelon Jolly Rancher. There are some stalky, peppery, floral and licorice notes lingering at the back, too. The palate is an acid-lover's dream. While it may be overly puckering for some, like biting into a lemon, the freshness is welcome, particularly balanced with spicy, textured tannins. It's a fun-loving barbecue wine for drinking slightly chilled. Christina Pickard
