89pointsLivingston Moffett 1999 Mitchell Vineyard Syrah (Napa Valley)

There's plenty of sour herb on the even, dark fruit; soy, bouillon and leathery notes add real complexity. Medium-weight, with handsome fruit-acid balance, it's slightly tart, a bit herbaceous, but also possesses fine structure and real potential to develop. Closes with tangy tannins, charcoal and pepper accents. Best held for three years.
