Lone Madrone 2015 Oveja Negra Red (Paso Robles Willow Creek District)

This head-pruned, dry-farmed blend of 49% Mourvèdre, 22% Grenache, 21% Syrah and 8% Counoise from Old Oak Vineyard begins with blackberry, dried purple-flower and gamy meat aromas. The palate is full, with strong but smooth tannins that present flavors of roasted berry and more wild meats. Matt Kettmann
