There's a fascinating smoke element to this blend of 49% Picpoul, 34% Roussanne and 17% Viognier, starting with aromas of seared Meyer lemon rinds, roasted chicken, flint and yellow peach on the nose. The palate is also smoky but layered with melon, mango and white-peach flavors, finishing on butterscotch. It's a viable Chardonnay alternative. Matt Kettmann
