Lone Madrone 2018 Chenin Blanc (Adelaida District)

Editors' Choice

From dry-farmed vines planted in 1971, this is a tremendous example of the potential for Chenin Blanc. Waxy aromas of paraffin, lemon peel, dried pear flesh and even Rainier cherry lead into an extremely grippy texture on the palate. Flavors of dried lemon and pear lead into a waxy, slight vanilla character on the finish. Matt Kettmann
