Longoria 2001 Alisos Vineyard Syrah (Santa Barbara County)

A brilliant and impressive wine whose rich fruit, lush tannins and structure recommend it. A mélange of blackberries and plums, with notes of mushrooms, herbs and peppery spices. It's fully dry, but the fruit flavors are so ripe, they finish with a delicious sweetness. Drinkable now, but also cellarworthy.
