Longoria 2016 Clover Creek Vineyard Albariño (Santa Ynez Valley)

Plump aromas of poached pear, Meyer lemon pith, honeysuckle and an underlying slate-like minerality hit the nose on this bottling. There's a roundness to the palate of Asian pear, but the sip is all about grippy texture and sizzling citrus energy that carries deep into the finish. Matt Kettmann
