Louis Nel 2012 Cape Winemakers Guild Gonzo Cabernet Sauvignon (Stellenbosch)

Cellar Selection

Winemaker: Louis Nel. This is a dense, dark, thick and brooding wine, with the potential to age well for another 5–10 years. Licorice root, cigar box, black tea leaf and iris add depth to the black berry, cherry and crème de cassis core. The mouthfeel is big, lush and powerful, not shy on flavor or tannin, with a firm grip that holds on long through the finish. Tight and young, give this time to mellow and integrate a bit more.
