From a three-acre block of the Valley View Vineyard just east of Solvang, this clonal selection shows cedar, black olive, black pepper and elderberry fruit on the tightly wound nose. Tart but ripe boysenberry fruit shows on the palate, spiced with peppercorn, more cedar and a slate-like minerality. Sticky tannins carry those flavors into the finish.
