This is the winery's first vintage for this almost forgotten Bordelaise grape, which was planted three years ago. Dense aromas of loam, licorice and plum jam kick off the nose, while the palate rides through smooth vanilla, licorice and peppery herb elements. A nutty character also arises toward the finish of the wine, which includes 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. Matt Kettmann
