Lucien Albrecht 2001 Grand Cru Pfingstberg Riesling (Alsace)

A bit severe for present consumption, this is a lean, stony wine, enlivened by hints of green apple and lime. It's crisp and clean, making it possible to drink now, but its austerity suggests patience; try in 2010, when its angular minerals might be softened somewhat. Joe Czerwinski
