Ripe and rich, with jammy black fruit and plenty of oak-driven bacon on the nose. This is your prototype modern Syrah, one with cola, raspberry, plum and chocolate flavors. The tannins are firm but forgiving, and the spice element is not light years from that of a Rhone wine. Syrah like this could give Malbec some competition.
