87pointsLula 2016 Peterson Vineyard Pinot Noir (Mendocino County)

Concentrated dark-fruit flavors are slightly over-matched by a prominent oak character in this full-bodied spicy wine. The aroma shows plenty of baking spices and charred wood, while the flavors have black cherry and black pepper with nutmeg. It's a big tempting wine but unusual for the varietal. Jim Gordon
