Lynmar 2006 Quail Hill Vineyard Chardonnay (Russian River Valley)

This is a dense, full-bodied Chardonnay that needs time to come around. Thoroughly dry and oaky, with 40% new wood, it shows ripe, complex flavors of pineapple brûlée, pears and apricots. Yet there's an immature sappy, jammy quality, characteristic of a young Chardonnay. Give it until early or mid-2009, when it should be gorgeous.
