M. Chapoutier 2001 La Bernardine Red (Châteauneuf-du-Pape)

This wine doesn't reveal that much of itself on the nose, showing just teasing hints of leather and cherries. But it oozes across the palate with dense, chocolate fudge flavors that carry cherry and dried spice notes. Rich and supple in the mouth, it finishes long and nuanced. Drink now-2010+. Joe Czerwinski
