Some Banyuls can be pruny, but this version from the Rhône-based firm of Chapoutier is remarkably fresh. The wine's sweet, plummy fruit features herbal touches on the nose, but also enough cocoa-like flavors to pair with chocolate and a softly dusty texture to the finish. Joe Czerwinski
