Machherndl 2006 Hochrain Old Vines Pinot Blanc (Wachau)

It is odd to find a Pinot Blanc in the land of Grüner Veltliner and Riesling. But a block of loam soil, planted with old vines gave Erich Machherndl the idea for this wine. The concentration of the old vines produces a full, creamy wine, green-plum flavored, with some cinnamon and weight. Roger Voss
