Madrigal 1996 Petite Sirah (Napa Valley)

A product of warm-weather, old-vine plants, this comes across a little too intense, a little too astringent. Sweet, pleasant fruit is a bit hard to find amid the bullet-like intensity. Time could be on its side, but for now it's a bit rough. Michael Schachner
