Maison de la Chapelle 2019 Les Bâtardes (Irancy)

Editors' Choice

Black-cherry and raspberry flavors are ripe yet fresh in this supple, penetrating red. Sourced from calcareous clay soils on Kimmeridgian limestone, it's an invigorating wine held upright by a zesty mineral undertow. With soft tannins and generous fruit flavors, the wine is approachable young but should mature elegantly through 2029. Anna Lee C. Iijima
