Mantlerhof 2016 Ried Spiegel Grüner Veltliner (Kremstal)

Editors' Choice

This wine's beatutifully aromatic notions of red-cheeked russet pear and autumn leaves create an intriguing, appetizing nose. On the palate, textured, spicy savoriness takes over, suggesting even more russet pear and salty yeast. It's intense, concentrated and utterly spicy, with the rattle and hum of white pepper throughout. Lovely now, it's sure to develop even more intensity. Drink now–2030. Anne Krebiehl MW
