Maquis 2013 Viola Carmenère (Colchagua Valley)

Leafy berry and herbal aromas are mulchy and suggest olive. This is medium in depth and cushion, with drying tannins. Smacking plum, tomato and herbal flavors finish hard. The 2013 vintage was a cool one in Chile, and this Carmenère has only moderate ripeness. Drink now. Michael Schachner
