Marc Kreydenweiss 2016 Wiebelsberg Grand Cru Riesling (Alsace)

The perfume of ripe but tart Cox's Orange Pippin apples is pervaded by zesty lemon. Crushed citrus foliage adds a tangy but aromatic edge that is played out even more on the juicy, dry, taut palate. There is something crystalline about the clarity of the lemon freshness, yet there is a deep well of riper citrus at the core. The full-flavored apple reappears on the dry, tangy and lip-smacking finish. Drink until 2035. Anne Krebiehl MW
