Marc Kreydenweiss 2018 Kastelberg Grand Cru Riesling (Alsace)

At first this wine shows yeasty, earthy funk followed by mellow creaminess that evokes apple crumble. That creaminess almost gets a lemon and apple yogurt note on the textured palate but bright, ripe lemon shines on the finish. A slightly rustic and unusual take on dry Riesling, it's compelling nonetheless. Anne Krebiehl MW
