93pointsMarcel Hugg 2012 Altenberg de Bergheim Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru Riesling (Alsace)

A touch of spicy dark fir honey plays about the apple notes on the nose and also makes its dark amber richness felt on the palate amongst baked apple and dried orange peel. The palate is concentrated and dry but keeps this honeyed charm through to the end where it plays with notions of apple, maple syrup and, not least, tangy citrus. Lovely. Drink now through 2028.
