Margarethenhof 2015 Ayler Kupp Spätlese Riesling (Mosel)

Whiffs of bramble and dried thyme on this semi-sweet Riesling suggest a decidedly savory wine, yet the palate surprises, brimming with sweet stone fruit, melon and red berries. It's a honeyed, almost candied wine, but zesty acidity keeps everything in check. Enjoy now through 2021. Anna Lee C. Iijima
