Marginalia 2019 Breezy Slope Vineyard Light Red (Walla Walla Valley (WA))

This is just over half Pinot Noir, and the rest is Pinot Gris, with all of the fruit coming from Breezy Slope Vineyard. It was fermented whole cluster, with one week of skin contact. Cranberry in color with some bricking, the aromas bring notes of peat, strawberry, dried herbs and crushed granite. The palate is light on its feet and flavorful, with a lot of acidity behind it. It will surely be too far out for some tastes; other will swoon. Pair it with grilled lamb chops. Sean P. Sullivan
