Mark Ryan 2009 Black Love Pinot Noir (Willamette Valley)

The fruit is sourced from Mark Ryan-designated rows in the Lachini Vineyard. Fermented with native yeast in stainless steel, and aged in 50% new French oak, this opens with plenty of green tea-flavored tannins, and an undercurrent of earth and wood, but the Pinot fruit shines through and expands, with notes of cola, cherry fruit and a streak of iron.
