Markus Altenburger 2015 Blaufränkisch (Leithaberg)

Plum and blackberry notes have a touch of smoke and mocha notes, which mellow on the taut palate. This shows lovely tension between ample fruit and taut freshness, with fine tannins giving a pleasant gauze-like structure. There is warmth and power but both are well contained and held on a tight leash. This shows that well-toned muscle takes you further than mere weight. Drink 2020–2030. Anne Krebiehl MW
