Marques de Alcantara NV Alma de Merixel Sparkling (Alicante)

This is the first blue-colored wine I've reviewed, and it gets no bonus points for its cyan tint. Made from Chardonnay, it smells of berry syrup and confectioners sugar. Its lean palate with cereal marshmallow and dried citrus fruit flavors finishes with artificial sweetness and a note of vinaigrette. Strange stuff for sure. Michael Schachner
