Marqués de Cáceres 2014 Gaudium Grand Vino (Rioja)

Meaty berry and plum aromas are dark and solid. A saturated palate shows full extraction of ripe Tempranillo fruit; but in the end, this feels a bit blocky and stumpy. Blackberry, vanilla and savory spice notes finish mostly with creamy oak and latent vanilla. This is ripe, intense, oaky and powerful. Drink through 2030. Michael Schachner
