Martin & Weyrich 1999 Il Palio Sangiovese (Paso Robles)

Fairly dark in color for this varietal, with pronounced aromas of dark stone fruits, red berries and blackberries, alongside earthy, mushroomy notes and some oak shadings. Fairly earthy and herbal on the palate, with tomato juice and plum flavors. Acidity and tannins contribute to a short, tart finish.
