Martin Woods 2018 Hyland Vineyard Pinot Noir (McMinnville)

This aromatic young wine offers sweet scents of cherries, with tart cherry fruit to follow. One-quarter was whole clusters, from 30-year-old vines. It needs aggressive aeration to open up, and as with the other 2018 Pinots from this winery, the tannins are quite astringent with an herbal edge. Paul Gregutt
