Maryhill 2016 Art Den Hoed Vineyard Painted Hills Primitivo (Columbia Valley (WA))

The aromas offer reserved notes of wet clay, cherry candy, spice, dark coffee and dried herb. The palate is considerably more giving, with full-bodied flavors of vanilla, cherry and baking spice, with the oak—65% new European and American—getting a bit out front of the fruit at times. Sean P.
