Mas de Boislauzon 2017 Red (Châteauneuf-du-Pape)

Intensely ripe, inky black currant and preserved blueberry flood this 60-40 blend of Grenache and Mourvèdre. Matured primarily in tank, it's a voluminous, abundant wine with a translucence of fruit etched by hints of granite and dried garrigue. Firm, persistent tannins need some time to open. At peak from 2022 to 2030 but will hold further still. Anna Lee C. Iijima
