Mas de Boislauzon 2017 Tintot Red (Châteauneuf-du-Pape)

Whiffs of fur and bramble lend sex appeal to concentrated blackberry and cherry flavors in this inky Mourvèdre-blend (augmented by 15% Grenache). While vinified with no new oak influence, it's an opulent, intensely primary wine with just a kiss of spice. Fine, velveteen tannins make it enjoyable young, but it should continue to improve through 2030. Anna Lee C. Iijima
