Mas Janeil by Francois Lurton 2016 Sans Soufre Red (Côtes du Roussillon Villages)

Black cherry, macerated raspberry, kirsch, sweet tobacco and a touch of roasted root form the intriguing nose of this no-sulphur wine. It's medium in weight, but fairly silky, with a texture like crushed satin formed by fine tannins and juicy red-berry fruits. Bright acidity lifts the palate and lends vibrancy to the finish, which ends on a kiss of vanilla-cherry flavor. Lauren Buzzeo
