Massalto 2019 Sauvalanche White (Columbia Valley (WA))

This is 58% Chenin Blanc and 42% Sauvignon Blanc, cofermented and with extended maceration. With fruit coming from La Reyna Blanca Vineyard on the Royal Slope, the aromas are bright, with notes of cantaloupe, melon, kiwi skin, banana and apple. Rounded, fresh flavors follow, bringing some weight but with enough acidity to pull it off. It needs time to fully settle in, but there are lots of interesting things happening. Sean P. Sullivan
