Matteo 2016 Grenache (Wahluke Slope)

Fruit for this wine comes from StoneTree Vineyard. The aromas intrigue, with notes of raspberry, orange peel, red cherry, smoked meat and potpourri. Soft, velvety, elegant flavors follow, with cranberry notes in the potpourri- and citrus-filled finish. It shows a lovely sense of balance—a fascinating offering of the variety from this appellation as much if not more about intellectual appeal than hedonism. Sean P. Sullivan
