A heavily herbaceous nose delivers the Chilean Carmenère three-step: olive, eucalyptus and juniper. A flush, oaky palate is tannic and not giving. Black fruit flavors are choppy and definitely green, followed by an oaky character that settles in on a long finish. Michael Schachner
