Mauritson 2016 Clough Cabernet Sauvignon (Sonoma County)

From eroded riverbed soils that present as gravelly, layered in quartz and chert, this single-soil, single-varietal wine is thick, viscous and brawny in wood, earth and herbal elements. A soft texture takes root on the midpalate allowing for black and blue fruit to enter the picture and show verve on the high-toned finish. Virginie Boone
