Maxwell 2018 Chardonnay (Adelaide Hills)

Vibrant yellow in hue, this is a bright and bouncy Chardonnay from the Adelaide Hills. It opens with lively notes of melon and citrus, with soft, nutty oak spice humming in the background. The palate is clean and focused, with a lovely texture that's both slippery and chalky. It's buoyed by crystalline acidity and clean primary fruit, backed by well-placed oak. It is a poised, modern Aussie Chardonnay that's food friendly to drink now but will age nicely until 2030. Christina Pickard
