Mazzei 2018 Codice Vermentino (Maremma Toscana)

Vinified partly in terracotta amphora, partly in steel and partly on the skins in steel vats, this opens with aromas of ripe yellow stone fruit, acacia and walnut. Mirroring the nose, the rather understated palate offers apricot, chestnut honey and a hint of mineral before closing on a bitter-almond note. Kerin O’Keefe
