Mazzocco 1997 Stone Ranch-Old Vine Carignane (Sonoma County)

A rich and gutsy red made from a rarely seen varietal—the vines are 85 years old—and what a treat it is. There are warm chocolate and red cherry tones leading to a medium finish with vivid closing fruit. Yummy wine all the way.
